illes Baumann
and Janine CardeillacBaumann
took up residence at the family farm in CASSAGNOLES,
Gondrin, in 1974. Their home is situated in
the heart of the Gascony region, where the
Cardeillac family has produced wine for several
centuries.
In
1974, the vineyards were primarily used to produce
Armagnac. Spurred
on by his passion for the vine, Gilles gradually
restructured and expanded the vineyard and cellar
and diversified production. We
produced our first bottles of 'Floc
de Gascogne' in 1978.
1980 saw our first production of bottled white wine. The DOMAINE
DES CASSAGNOLES was
born.
ver the years, the estate has continued
to develop and Gilles and Janine are now at the
head of a family estate with several vineyards,
where traditional grape varieties are associated
with innovative techniques and constant attention
is paid to quality. We
received the 'label
Excellence Gers' on 2 August 2000 and have
been members of the Federation of Private Cellars,
independent wine producers, for over 20 years. We were joined
by our daughter, Laure, in 2002 and have been working
with Bénédicte, Christine, Thierry,
Cédric and Jérôme - a young
and dynamic team - for several years.
